Day 5: Dobërdol to Milishevc
Thursday 30 July 2026, 21.4km, 1140m up, 1185m down
Guest House Leonard to Kulla Guest House

We set off on another glorious sunny day, most of us with renewed energy, Zoe and me still feeling peaky from the bug. But what a beautiful walk! First we retraced our steps up the rocky road, then we struck off across the grassy meadow to climb steeply up a nearby mountain with great views of the valley where had just stayed.

On from that pass, we skirted around the hill to a point where the trail branched. We left our packs here and headed up another incline to see the peak Tromedja 2366m which marks the junction of the borders of Kosova, Albania and Montenegro. The views into all 3 countries were of distant mountains, rolling hills and lush green valleys.

After reclaiming our packs we followed the trail along the hillsides and then up to another high saddle (Roshkodol Pass 2258m) where we stopped in the shade to eat the bread rolls we had packed for our lunches.

The afternoon hike was first down into the long Roshkodol valley and then along through forest and across rivulets to the small and apparently new village of Roshkodol. Here we saw a welcome sign pointing to a cafe where we all enjoyed a rest in the shade, along with cold drinks and snacks.

With renewed energy, we hiked on – down a dirt road to the river at the valley floor and then up as the road wound gently and then steeply up to Milishevc and eventually to Kulla Guest House, an interesting stone building. Dinner was a delicious soup, local pastry dish, chicken, rice and salads.
