Another setback

After our last post on Sunday, I (Rob) had a sleepless night with a lot of bowel discomfort, to the point where we decided in the morning to backtrack a couple of miles to a road crossing and try to get to a nearby town with a hospital. Luckily there was phone reception and we were able to organise a lift.
After some tests to rule out anything serious, and some medicines, we left the hospital and spent the next 2 nights in a nearby motel. Things have improved a lot, but we decided on balance that it was best to return home rather than persist on the AT. Consequently we are now in Los Angeles for three nights and will fly to Sydney on Saturday night.
So the rest of the AT will have to wait till another time…
