Cold rain at Hot Springs

April 18, 2022 Uncategorized 3 Comments

Day 21: April 18, 2022
AT mile 262.6 to 275.0
Hiked: 12.4 miles / 20.0 km
AT miles hiked to date: 12.5%

Rain overnight. Rain while we de-camped. Rain for the next 12 miles of hiking, which brought us to the town of Hot Springs.

Stopping for a Clif bar

All the accommodation was filling up, and with no mobile reception in the town we had to visit each establishment to see if they had vacancy. We fortunately got a room at the Iron Horse Inn. Hot showers never felt so good. The burgers in the restaurant downstairs were pretty good too!

Calories!

We will probably sleep-in tomorrow and do a half day or so of hiking. We estimate about 4.5 days to the next town, Erwin.

It was a very good mac and cheese! Not made from a packet.
