About us
Long service leave is a wonderful thing! After many years working in Medicine and Education , my wife and I have the opportunity to take six months off to fulfill a teenage dream – to hike the Pacific Crest Trail in the USA.
We come from the Gold Coast, Australia, and are already missing our three children and one dog. Having passed a half century, we certainly won’t be the youngest hikers on the PCT, but we are going to give it a go.
You can contact us at pct@loudonweb.com but remember we might not be able check emails very often.
About the PCT
The Pacific Crest Trail is a continuous hiking trail that goes from Mexico to Canada through California, Oregon and Washington – 2650 miles / 4265 kilometers. There’s lots of information about the PCT on the web which we won’t duplicate here, but have a look at:
- Pacific Crest Trail organisation
- Overview map of the PCT
- Glossary of PCT jargon (we will probably use some of these terms)
