Day 108: 31 years
Today was our 31st wedding anniversary. We couldn’t go to a fancy restaurant but we could share a great day in stunning scenery. Around every corner there was another great view.
The only problem was that the corners were vertical as well as horizontal. There was a lot of ascending and descending today, and a lot of loose rocks and tree roots which slows our pace.
We saw more pikas and marmots and lots of lakes and peaks. The last long uphill brought us to a small alpine lake, where we camped having done 22.4 miles.
Amazing scenery!
My favourite post so far – the pictures are amazing. Congrats on 31 years – I’m sure this trip will test your marriage in new ways as well as provide some lasting memories. Stay well!
Can it get any better. Go campers.
What a way to spend your anniversary. Congratulations. Love the views but the last photo is fab.
Grand views with many happy memories of a joyful day! Praise God you can do such a trip together.
Another lovely “Starry, starry night” photo.
Happy Anniversary. Wow, that is awesome, how much better, and more memorable, to spend your anniversary there, than a fancy restaurant.
Way to go! 31 years and celebrated in style – I’d agree with Bill that you’ve had a much greater treat being where you were that day. And 31 years is indeed worth celebrating and treasuring for all that it is.
Some really beautiful country you’ve been going through. It seems the weather you’re getting in the Cascades is way better than average. It makes for a pretty good promotion of Washington. OG must be feeling proud of his turf.
Congratulations xx
Congratulations and our best wishes! A restaurant pales by comparison. That’s a stunning set of photos, particularly the night scene.
