Day 61: getting back to the trail
This morning OG arrived in his van and took us all back to Rhododendron where Johnnie had left their rental car. Then we said goodbye to Peter and Jo, and Johnnie took them to Eugene.
OG and Ros and I drove to Medford, as did Johnnie. OG left his van at his wife’s cousin’s place, and Carol generously had prepared taco salad for our dinner. Now Johnnie is taking us all to Old Station so we can start hiking northbound tomorrow.
Don’t worry if you couldn’t follow all those logistics – suffice to say we are keen to get back on the trail. We hope to go all the way to Santiam Pass without snow problems.
We have had a great time with our family and special thanks to OG and Johnnie for helping with the transport.
Hey Rob & Ros,
Good to see Pete & Joanna in some photos, Brad & Molly would complete the picture.
Question : Your PCT progress says 32% though you are not that far from the Canadian border. Do you have to go back and do sections you missed ? Continue into Canada, or what ?
Your eagle eye is correct. We have skipped the Sierras and most of Northern California due to high snow levels. We will do those last.
Oh that is so funny……..I thought I was back at High School sitting for one of those dreadful logic IQ tests, and that I would need to draw up a Truth Table to work out where you were and with whom…..Ha Ha!….Who is on the trail with you now?….look forward to the next Trail Tales…..Kris
Glad you enjoyed some of the trail together with the family, and prayers for safe travels for them. Hope you enjoyed your rest, and are ready for more adventures ahead. Love the snow capped moutains
Glad to know this complicated to-ing and fro-ing has worked out well and that you are ready to set out again.
Haha. Sounded like the script for a good old Western with all those names…….. π
Thank you for all the beautiful photos!! We share them around Kalwun π
Stay safe
