Day 28: Vasquez Rocks and Agua Dulce
Today was a straightforward 18 miles down (and up and down) to some interesting eroded terrain known as Vasquez Rocks. Evidently may western movies have been filmed here. Then we arrived in the small town of Agua Dulce. As we were drinking celebratory milkshakes, a friendly English lady got talking with us, and long story short, she and her husband drove us to a motel about 4 miles away.So we are now showered, laundered and dined and ready for a sound sleep. As a bonus, rain is forecast tonight and we won’t be in a tent!
Love reading all about your adventures You are both so inspirational
Hi Guys, Peter and I are so enjoying reading about your trek. We think you are truly amazing.. What a life experience and a journey so much more than just walking the miles. The photos have been incredible. You are in our thoughts, loving the updates and sending our best wishes to you both as the journey continues. Linda and Peter
Have you got your trail names yet? Rob should definitely be “Abe” or “The President”.
Hi Ros,
What a great hike you two are having. I’m loving the blog and the fantastic photos, and relaying it to everyone at work. Inspiring stuff. That pizza and hotel prize looks like it was well appreciated.
That does look like Cowboys and Indians country. Glad you got a night out of the rain.
So glad to hear you are keeping on keeping on, can relate to the cold ( caraccident in Northern Saskatchewan at -27) my best hike was six days in Tas. I am enjoying your trip immensely
Thank you for sharing your journey with us all. Your photos are amazing- those trees must be ancient. Must be pretty tough walking through the snow.
Dane has resigned, Ros. He has been offered a youth engagement position with Bugalwena and will be very good in that role . This is his last week.
Work has received a retinal camera and we all had training in its use last week.
Apart from that, everything is the same here.
Good to hear you are warm and dry and having pizza!
Ros, the look of joy on your face is infectious. A well deserved meal and motel room after a hard slog. Keep on keeping on, you amaze me
You guys are hiking machines, hope the legs hold up climbing those mountains, the scenery is amazing.
Well, you certainly deserve mountaineering badges, First Class ! What a marvellous motel treat!
Love the giant golden flower stalks and another great tree photo (Mt Baden Powell) Congrats on sticking out the chill and damp.
Ros, is Robert OK?
Anyway it’s good that Abe is helping you out
You are meeting some lovely people along the way.
