Day 25: Over the top
In the morning we ascended the final mile to the summit of Mt Baden Powell and were rewarded with 360deg views. Maybe we will get a mountaineer’s badge! We finally got a picture of a chipmunk. Then down again, more snow, up again, down again and eventually we got to our first PCT closure – closed to protect an endangered yellow legged frog. So it meant a 3 Mile road walk bypass, but we got to a very nice campground.Tonight all our food is stored in a bear-proof locker.
Great photos. Guess you didnt see a bear, which Im sure you were pleased about.
Nice 🙂 Summits are always good, then you have to go down again. Love the image of the tree.
Hooray! A chipmunk…..great wild shot with all its collected goodies…… hope they are NOT poodle-dog bush seeds …..Youch! Those chipmunks and squirrells are pretty cute….wouldnt mind a few of those running around in my back-yard at all………Country looks interesting again, but hard slogging and cold with those beautiful contorted pines…..I can certainly remember a few westerns with that type of gulch country……..Dead Horse Gulch, Snake River Desperados, Geronimo,…..evokes some great moments in film…..Glad you get to rest and shower every so often and the Trail Angels must be such a welcome sight…… you are covering large distances ..On,On..
Loving some of your tree photos.
