R&R on the GSWW

Robert and Ros on the Great South West Walk

Home

The Great South West Walk is a 250km loop walk in south western Victoria, Australia. We hiked the GSWW in September 24 – October 5, 2018, partly as a walk in its own right, and partly as a training preparation for our 2019 Pacific Crest Trail thru-hike.

We took 11 days to complete the hike, plus a rest day at Portland at the approximate half way point. We really enjoyed the hike and can recommend it. We hope our blog will give you a feel for what it is like.

If you plan to do this hike, the starting point for your research should be the greatsouthwestwalk.com/ website. Also, you will need to book some of the campsites from Parks Victoria.
