July 16, 2024<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday was a day off hiking. It poured for much of the day which we spent inside reading. Today, as predicted, the clouds have dissipated, and we are back on the trail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Happily, the track is not too muddy, and we have made good time despite stopping for coffee, again for milkshakes, and occasionally to admire the view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was an iron age fort on this hill<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Dramatic cliff top views look back over villages we have passed through and out to rocky outcrops and boats enjoying the calm seas. We also spotted 2 large seals romping in the water close to the rocks. There are signs all around explaining the need to keep your distance from the seals and in one village we saw a bronze sculpture of Neville – a now departed local seal that was a favourite in the village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a leisurely lunch of paninis and a browse in the seaside souvenir shops, we wound our way west for another 10 km to the very pleasant campsite where we will enjoy dinner and hopefully a quiet night in our tent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
