After much deliberation, we have come to the conclusion that the best way forward for us is to divert off the GR10 and onto something more appealing. We have a few weeks of holiday left, have come all this way, and feel that, spectacular though the Pyrenees has been, we would like to see some different scenery. In particular, I (Rob), have also found the trail very strenuous with its constant steep climbs and descents. We are pleased to have reached the half way point and the High Pyrenees, and nearly 500km of trail, despite the weather, mud and leg injury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The plan now is to get from Luchon to Toulouse by car, then to Bordeaux by train. The following day, we fly to Bristol! We are going to hike as much of the South West Coast Path that we can. This takes in some beautiful cliffs and quaint towns around Cornwall. If we have further leg problems, there is supposed to be a good doctor in Portwyn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PS: regarding the request for a photo of a Griffin – we think we saw them high in the sky at the beginning of the hike, apologies though, they were too far for photos!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
