To Pietown, red line mile 415

Hiked today: 13.7 miles / 22km

Today we started a bit earlier, 5:30am. The objective was to get to Pietown Post Office before it closed at noon. Along the way a trail angel named Solo stopped and gave us an energy drink (he had done this twice already as we bumped to him in various places earlier on).

Solo helps again

We managed to do the 14 miles by 10:30 and dumped our gear at the famous “Toaster House” which is a house donated for the use of hikers.

Then it was off to the two cafes in town for breakfast, then lunch. Both sell fantastic pies, so a big slice of pie and icecream each!

Breakfast at 11am
Lunch at 1pm

The rest of the day has been spent sorting our resupply box for the next 4 day stretch to Grants, and just relaxing talking to a few other hikers we have got to know including Thankful, Planner and Ben.

Great photo of you both at the head of this article.
The carefully-filtered water seems to be keeping you healthy!

Massive distances guys, especially with the hot weather and limited water. Do stay hydrated as best you can!
Love the photos and updates – keep them coming. Hope to catch you on the WhatsApp calls soon.

Loved catching up on all the adventures. Alternate route looked beautiful, good choice I reckon!

You two look so happy eating your lunch and pie. What a treat! I love to ‘toaster house’. Looks comfortable and cool collection of shoes and stuff. Glad you are doing so well!
