Chama to Espanola
Hiked today: 0.0 miles / 0 km

Well, the day started well with a delicious breakfast at a cafe a mile and a half down the road. While there, we were able to make an appointment with a doctor at a clinic attached to a hospital in another town. Then we picked up 3 parcels from the post office – containing our micro spikes, new shoes, and a new sleep mat.

Then we hurried back to check out of our motel and went across the road to wait at the bus stop. After an hour, the free bus arrived, and we began the 2 hour journey to the town of Espanola. The driver dropped us right at the hospital and we were able to get a good lunch in the hospital cafeteria before our appointment.

Great lunch at the hospital cafeteria

Everyone at the hospital was very friendland helpful and the doctor organised a chest xray and ECG. She was to call with results and send our prescriptions on to Walmart. We took 2 more (free) buses in 37 deg heat to get to Walmart but no prescription had arrived. I tried phoning the clinic but it was closed. We will have to phone them in the morning and somehow get back to Walmart for the medication. We have booked into the Motel 6 and had a Sonic burger next door for dinner. Now we need to plan tomorrow for the remainder of our time, despite not having a definite diagnosis of asthma.
