Silver City

May 20, 2025 1 Comment

Today’s activities included – purchasing resupply including a few food items, replacement sun gloves for Ros, inflatable pillow for Rob and sun cream; exploring our corner of the town; and spending a good amount of time with our feet up.

After a cooked breakfast of eggs and toast, followed by coffee, we ticked off the resupply jobs. Then we had a look at the visitor centre which is located adjacent to a creek bed known as The Ditch. Along the paths by the creek I was able to use the Merlin app to identify a few more birds by their distinctive calls.

Lunch was at a sandwich bar called ‘Chaos’, and we shared a ham, avocado, and salad sandwich on rye bread. It was delicious, so we ordered a second one, wrapped in foil to take for tomorrow’s lunch. It is safely stored in the fridge of the hotel kitchen bar.

On the short walk back to our hotel, we visited a small gallery displaying paintings, photography, mosaics, and other crafts by some local artists. Then it was time for the mist important job – resting up, and that was very pleasant.

For those who were worried about our lack of muesli
