Day 4: Patagonia
Day 4: March 28, 2023
AZT mile 43.0 to 50.7
Hiked today: 7.7 miles / 12.4 km
AZT hiked to date: 2.3%
We woke to the sound of turkeys gobbling and coyotes calling but the cows had moved away during the night. We got going quickly to get the hill hiking well underway before the heat of the day set in.
Green grass is starting to appear and the wildflowers are starting to peep out. The bright yellow poppies should be opening to full bloom soon.
It was a short hike today into the small quaint town of Patagonia. The town is very accommodating to hikers and the people we have met have been friendly. When we get to town, the priorities are: food including milkshakes, showers, laundry, resupply of food for the next section, recharging devices and contacting home. Then bed – which tonight is in a friendly campground. With all of the above completed, we are ready to tackle the next section.

Yep great looking weather
Good to see those Tucson type cacti pics coming thru
Well that is a lovely couple of days to catch up on. Great photos and the scenery looks beautiful. Hope you have enough warm clothes for those cold over night temperatures drops. Enjoy your refueling and hopefully get Rob hiking drip fixed and and new filters for the water. And hope Annette ankle is ok. xxoo
