Vancouver
As you may have gathered from the lack of blog posts, we are no longer on the AZT. We stayed several days in Payson then Phoenix so Rob could rest his leg. While much improved, we did not want to aggravate it further by returning to Long days on a rough and stoney trail. We are disappointed to abandon our attempt, but we were not going to be able to do the whole route anyway due to the closure of the Trail on the north rim of the Grand Canyon.
Our next idea was to travel northern to Seattle as we had originally planned to spend some time with Gary and Jean. We spotted and bought some very cheap flights to Vancouver, Canada, with the plan to spend some time there before travelling the short distance back to Seattle.
Vancouver is a lovely city, and we have relaxed in a really nice apartment and enjoyed some walks around the nearby Stanley Park. Weather has been cool and not too much rain.
Tomorrow, we plan to hire a car and take it on the ferry across to Vancouver Island for a few days.

That sounds ‘just what the doctor ordered’!
Have heard that Stanley Park is beautiful.
Hi Roslyn and Robert. Rob I hope you are ok and that the leg starts to improve. Those legs have walk a lot of km’s and hiked many mountains all over the world. I hope you enjoy some time in Vancouver, it also looks like a beautiful place to visit. We have really enjoyed all of the work you have both put into the Blogs and beautiful photos, let alone the physical and planning that you have both put into your trip. Take care of each other, let the recovery happen. Love to you both xxoo
