{"id":257,"date":"2022-04-24T13:28:01","date_gmt":"2022-04-24T13:28:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/loudonweb.com\/at\/?p=257"},"modified":"2022-04-24T13:29:05","modified_gmt":"2022-04-24T13:29:05","slug":"beauty-spot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/loudonweb.com\/at\/2022\/04\/24\/beauty-spot\/","title":{"rendered":"Beauty Spot"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Day 26: April 23, 2022<br \/>AT mile 344.3 to 358.0<br \/>Hiked: 13.7 miles \/ 22.0 km<br \/>AT miles hiked to date: 16.3%<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As we said, the flowers are blooming and, with them and the warmer temperatures have come the bugs &#8211; flies and bees pollinating the flowers and following us along the trail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We started out from Erwin at 10 am after getting a shuttle from town to the trailhead.&nbsp; Initially the path was only a gradual ascent as we followed a stream winding up a valley. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"533\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/loudonweb.com\/at\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2022\/04\/IMG_7730-01.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-254\" srcset=\"https:\/\/loudonweb.com\/at\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2022\/04\/IMG_7730-01.jpeg 533w, https:\/\/loudonweb.com\/at\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2022\/04\/IMG_7730-01-200x300.jpeg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 533px) 100vw, 533px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then the path again rose quite steeply (more like its usual direct approach) and we arrived at a shelter where we stopped for a snack. Looking into the shelter we saw something else that has become active with the warmer change &#8211; a 2m long black snake was snoozing towards the back.
